Abstract
Introduction: For 30 years, Foundation “Krwinka” has supported children with cancer and their families. Regular biennial patient congresses combine therapeutic, medical, emotional, and business dimensions to provide psychological support, foster creativity, highlight contributions of supporters, and inspire hope for recovery.
Methodology: A key element is the meetings between children undergoing treatment and those who have recovered, enabling dialogue and sharing experiences. Heartwarming reunions of former patients from all Polish pediatric oncology clinics with doctors and nurses further strengthen the community and create motivation. The Congresses include the presentation of 1.5% campaign spots created by children undergoing treatment, a film showcasing the Foundation’s main activities, and a therapeutic puppet fairytale. These exchanges bring hope and demonstrate that life after cancer can be positive and full of possibilities.
In the business dimension, the Congresses honor companies and individuals supporting the Foundation by presenting awards to “Extraordinary” contributors, emphasizing the role of corporate responsibility in fighting cancer.
Results: Creative activities, including therapeutic spots and puppet fairy tales, empowered children, helping them express emotions and build strength during treatment. These activities highlighted their creativity and resilience, fostering a sense of agency. Meeting with survivors inspired hope, showing life after recovery. Donors saw the direct impact of their support, strengthening trust. Recognitions and emotional reunions reinforced connections within the pediatric oncology care system.
Conclusion: The Congresses, with XIII editions held, celebrate dedication to hope and recovery, uniting those we work with and for. They showcase the mutual impact of efforts and inspire collaboration, demonstrating how collective action creates meaningful change for children and families affected by cancer.
