OncoDaily Medical Journal (ODMJ) is committed to a transparent, rigorous, and ethical publishing process. Each manuscript is evaluated according to its scientific quality, methodological soundness, originality, ethical compliance, and relevance to oncology and related fields.
The publishing process at ODMJ includes editorial screening, peer review, revision, editorial decision-making, production, and post-publication oversight. The journal aims to support authors through a fair and timely process while protecting the integrity of the scientific record.
Initial Technical Check
All manuscripts submitted to ODMJ undergo an initial technical assessment by the editorial office. At this stage, the submission is checked for completeness and compliance with the journal’s requirements, including manuscript files, title page, figures and tables, authorship information, conflict of interest declarations, funding statements, ethics approval, informed consent, and other required documentation where applicable. Submissions are also screened for plagiarism, inappropriate text overlap, duplicate publication, and other forms of potential publication misconduct using appropriate similarity-detection tools and editorial assessment. Any concerns identified during screening may be investigated further in accordance with the journal’s publication ethics policies.
Manuscripts that are incomplete, do not comply with the journal’s submission requirements, or raise unresolved concerns at the technical screening stage may be returned to the authors for correction or clarification before further editorial evaluation.
Editorial Screening
After the technical check, the Editor-in-Chief, Associate Editor, or appropriate handling editor evaluates the manuscript for relevance to the journal’s scope, originality, scientific quality, methodological strength, reporting completeness, and ethical compliance.
Manuscripts that do not meet the journal’s basic editorial or scientific standards may be rejected without external peer review.
Double-Blind Peer Review
Manuscripts that pass the initial editorial assessment are sent for peer review. ODMJ applies a double-blind peer review process, in which the identities of both authors and reviewers are kept confidential. To support this process, authors must submit the title page as a separate file, and the main manuscript file should not contain author names, affiliations, acknowledgments, or any other information that may identify the authors.
Research manuscripts are normally evaluated by at least two independent reviewers with relevant clinical, scientific, or methodological expertise. Additional statistical or specialist review may be requested when appropriate.
Review and Revision Process
Reviewers are asked to assess the manuscript’s scientific rigor, originality, methodology, clarity, ethical standards, validity of results, interpretation of findings, and clinical or scientific relevance. Reviewers are normally expected to submit their reports within 21 days of accepting the invitation to review.
Reviewer comments help editors make an informed decision and support authors in improving the quality, accuracy, and clarity of their work. If revisions are requested, authors should respond to each reviewer comment and clearly indicate the changes made in the revised manuscript.
Editorial Decisions and Revisions
Editorial decisions are based on the reviewers’ recommendations and the handling editor’s assessment of the manuscript. Possible decisions include: Accept, Minor revision, Major revision and Reject. When revisions are requested, authors must submit a revised manuscript together with a detailed point-by-point response to all reviewer and editorial comments. Revised manuscripts may be returned to the original reviewers when substantial changes require further evaluation.
Acceptance and Production
The final decision on publication is made by the Editor-in-Chief or the responsible handling editor. After acceptance, the manuscript enters the production process, which may include copyediting, technical editing, reference checking, figure and table preparation, typesetting, author proof review, final corrections, and online publication.

All manuscripts, reviewer reports, editorial decisions, and related communications are treated as confidential. ODMJ is committed to maintaining an impartial, timely, and professionally managed editorial process.
