Introduction: PICCs are commonly used in pediatric chemotherapy patients to administer chemotherapy, antibiotics, and other medications. However, the use of PICCs requires specialized knowledge and skills.

The objective was to assess the knowledge regarding PICCs among nurses working in a pediatric chemotherapy unit.

Methodology: A descriptive cross-sectional study was conducted among 50 nurses working in a pediatric chemotherapy unit. A structured questionnaire was used to assess their knowledge regarding PICCs.

Results: The results showed that the majority of nurses (80%) had adequate knowledge regarding the indications and contraindications of PICC placement. However, only 40% of nurses had adequate knowledge regarding the management of PICC-related complications. Significant correlations were found between knowledge scores and years of experience (r=0.4, p<0.01) and educational level (r=0.3, p<0.05).

Conclusion: The study highlights the need for ongoing education and training programs to enhance nurses’ knowledge regarding PICCs, particularly in the management of PICC-related complications.
